How do you create the final application ?

2 possibilities :
1- Click on the button "Export presentation" in the icon bar.
2- In the "File" menu, choose "Export presentation".

A window opens. You then choose your exit options.
These different options are according to the software being used : MediaMixer, WebMixer or TwinPlayer.
At the end of the creation, the software indicates to you in which directory your final application has been created.
It then offers to launch it.

How do you create an application for a cd-rom ?
MEDIAMIXER -TWINPLAYER

MEDIAMIXER

TWINPLAYER

CREATION

- Project having little sound and little video
Select "Create all in a single application". Click on "OK" then on "Start".
The software automatically creates a single application nameofproject.exe containing all your medias.
The application is created in a directory out1 inside the directory containing your project. The software gives you the exact path at the end of the creation process. This directory out1 becomes out2 on your second tentative attempt... This application is autonomous and does not require any prior installation.

Exceptions : The files called by the actions "Open external file" and the off-line html pages called by an element "Long text" are put in a directory texts inside the directory containing your final project (NEW).
When burning, you will have to burn elements (images for example) called by your html pages in an appropriate directory. Not including also the software called by an action "Launch an application".

- Macintosh version : TwinPlayer NEW
By default, the single application created is only for PC.
With TwinPlayer, when checking "Macintosh version", TwinPlayer creates an html version of your project readable on Macintosh (Firefox 1, Netscape 7 or sup. or equivalent Safari. IE 5 could be use but can not read all the functionnalities).
Please note that effects and filter are not visibles on Mac. Animations and characters are statics. Elements will appear instantanitly at the right place and at the right moment.
With TwinPlayer, if you choose "Mac version", the single application for pc is then created in the directory PC.
In the MAC directory, you will find html pages with js and css files. Images (videos, sounds) of your project are copied in the sub-directories images (videos, sounds).
A readme.txt file is created in the directory out1 to guide your mac user when launching the cd-rom.

- Project having a lot of sound and of video (50Mb+)
Select "Create all (except sound and videos) in as single application". Click on "OK" then on "Start".
The software automatically creates a single application nameofproject.exe containing all your medias except sounds and videos.
This option avoids the extraction time of significant sound and video files.
Exceptions : The files called by the actions "Open external file" and the off-line html pages (and their dependent files) called by an element "Long text" are put in a directory texts inside the directory containing your final project (NEW).
When burning, you will have to burn elements (images for example) called by your html pages in an appropriate directory. Not including also the software called by an action "Launch an application".

The application is created in a directory out1 inside the directory containing your project. The software gives you the exact path at the end of the creation process. The sounds and videos are recopied and reassembled in two directories "videos" and "sounds" inside the directory "out1". This directory out1 becomes out2 on your second tentative attempt...
This application is autonomous and does not require any prior installation.

- Automatic launching on the insertion of the cd-rom.
Select "Create an autorun.inf file".
The software automatically creates a file autorun.inf which must be saved in the root directory of your cd-rom.
On the insertion in the reader of the cd-rom, your application will then launch automatically.
CARE, the name of your project must not contain any spaces or specific non english linguistic characters (è,à,é...).
If necessary, the software will automatically change your files names to avoid autorun or server conflicts.
This file autorun.inf is created in the same directory as the final application.
NB : All the images are integrated into your project only at the moment of the creation process. They must therefore be available on your discs, otherwise you will obtain the message "Please insert your cd-rom ...".

DISTRIBUTION

- Save on cd-rom
Once the creation is finished, the software tells you in which directory the final application has been created.
Then use the software which you usually use to record a cd-rom. If you are using Windows XP, this function is integrated into Windows Explorer.
MEDIAMIXER - TWINPLAYER (without mac version) : Record on the cd-rom:
- your application nameofproject.exe in the root directory (not in a directory).
- the file autorun.inf in the root directory of the cd-rom (if you have requested automatic loading).
- the videos and sounds directories in the root directory (if you have requested the creation with external videos and sounds).
- the texts directory containing files by the action "Open external file" and the off-line html pages called by an element "Long text".

All the elements of your html page (images, scripts...) must also be recorded, respecting the arborescence of your html pages. Use the relative paths in your html pages to call these elements.
Ex : If your html pages call images in a sub-directory images, burn this directory images in the directory texts containing the html pages.

TWINPLAYER (with MAC VERSION) :
Record on the cd-rom:
- the PC directory and all its sub-directories.
- the file autorun.inf in the root directory of the cd-rom (if you have requested automatic loading).
Then record on the cd-rom with mac format:
- the MAC directory and all its sub-directories.
- the file readme.txt in the root directory of the cd-rom.

If you have offline html pages called by long text or files called by the action "Open external file", All the elements of your html page (images, scripts...) must also be recorded, respecting the arborescence of your html pages. Use the relative paths in your html pages to call these elements.
Ex : If your html pages call images in a sub-directory images, burn this directory images in the directory texts containing the html pages.

- MP3 sound and MPEG video
If your application contains MP3 sounds or MPEG files, note that certain users are still under Windows 95 or the first version of Windows 98.
These must in general upgrade Microsoft MediaPlayer to listen to a MP3 sound or to see a MPEG video.
For this, your user must possess Microsoft MediaPlayer 6.4 or higher (or equivalent).
You can download freely on the internet the latest version of Microsoft Mediaplayer (or equivalent)
You can permit its installation from your application by creating for example a text link "Install Microsoft MediaPlayer" associated with an action "Open file" launching the installation of Microsoft MediaPlayer.

- Fonts
Use current fonts (Times New Roman, Tahoma, Verdana, Arial...) on the text lines.
If you use a special font, this may not be present on the computer of your user.
The application then finds a similar font which might modify your page layout (incomplete text...).
If you absolutely must use a little known font, pass your text as an image with your drawing software.

DISTRIBUTION

- cd-rom, email (MPEG, AVI)
Simply record the file generated on your cd-rom.

- email (MPEG, AVI)
Send by attached file the file generated.
We recommend that you use MPEG output here, which is more compressed than avi.

- vidéo cd, svcd, dvd (MPEG, AVI)
Use the MPEG or AVI files generated to constitute your vcd, svcd or dvd and to read on your television with the home dvd reader.

Encoding:
To distribute on these supports, you must previously encode the mpeg or avi files generated in order to make them compatible with your television PAL (Europe) or NTSC (USA, Japan).

For this, us TMpegEnc (freeware for non commercial use, TMpegenc Plus for commercial use). TMPGEnc is an encoder, that is to say that it converts a video file, in general of type AVI or MPEG into a file of type MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 used mainly in the video-CD. By using the numerous options available, you can save long home video sequences, keeping an excellent image quality. The mpeg videos obtained can then be recorded for a dvd, vcd or svcd reader in pal or ntsc. Note that the encoded film will no longer be readable on your computer. According to the support chosen, TmpegEnc automatically resizes your videos so that they appear full screen.

Pal :
VCD : MPEG 1 file, 352 x 288 pixels.
SVCD : MPEG 2 file, 480 x 576 pixels.
DVD : MPEG 2 file, 352x288 / 352x576 / 720x576 pixels.

Ntsc :
VCD : MPEG 1 file, 352 x 240 pixels.
SVCD : MPEG 2 file, 480 x 480 pixels.
DVD : MPEG 2 file, 352x240 / 352x480 / 720x480 pixels.

This software also allows you to add sound to the video outputs realized with TwinPlayer.
You can download TmpegEnc freely by clicking here.

VCD, SVCD :
Once you have encoded your mpeg file, you can then record it with a cd-rom writer on a cdr for a vcd or svcd output. Click here for a list of the software packages which record in the vcd or svcd format. At the time of the recording, choose the output vcd or svcd then add the encoded film.

DVD :
For a dvd output, you must use a dvd writer. At the time of the recording, choose the output dvd then add the encoded film.
